Benefits of Dental Veneers

Veneers are extremely thin ‘shells’ that are designed to coat the front of your teeth. Dental veneers are growing in popularity due to how easily they can transform your smile by changing the colour, size, length or shape of your teeth.

Dental veneers can be made out of many different materials; however, porcelain veneers are the best choice for durability and stain resistance. Porcelain veneers also look far more natural, as they have the same light-reflecting surface as your natural teeth. Each patient is different and will have different needs and budgets, so it’s always best to discuss your options with your dentist to find out which will be right for you.

Why Get Porcelain Veneers?

Dental veneers may be for you if:

· You have large gaps in between your teeth

· You have chipped or broken teeth that make you self-conscious

· Your teeth are worn down

· Your teeth are wonky and vary in shape and size

· Your teeth are heavily stained

· You want a natural appearance

How Long Does It Take?

On average, you can have your dental veneers fitted after three visits to your dentists. Visit one will be a consultation, where your dentist will tell you your options and answer any questions you may have about veneers and the procedure.

Visit two will be where your dentist takes impressions of your mouth and teeth to send off to the laboratory where your veneers will be custom-made. Before they can do this, they will need to reshape and file down your teeth in preparation. It can take up to 4 weeks for your veneers to be ready so in the meantime your dentist will provide you with temporary veneers during this time.

Your third and final visit will be the application of your veneers and where you will see your final result!
