What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is an individual orthodontic treatment plan for adults and children, designed to straighten crowded, wide-spaced or crooked teeth discretely with clear braces/aligners.

When you are self-conscious about the alignment of your teeth, traditional wire and bracket braces may not be your preferred choice of orthodontic treatment. With a Invisalign® braces, you wear custom-made, invisible aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day. How does an Invisalign® treatment plan work?

When you come in for an Invisalign® treatment plan at the Kettering Dental & Implant Clinic, there are two stages – a free consultation and treatment:

Consultation

Your dentist will first assess your teeth to establish if an Invisalign® teeth straightening treatment is right for you. We take a high-tech computerised 3D image of your mouth and teeth. We will be able to show you a simulated evolution and timeline of your straightening plan together with the anticipated end result.

Treatment

Every two weeks, you receive a new set of Invisalign® clear aligners to wear over your teeth all day except for when you are eating. Wearing the aligners progressively moves your teeth to the desired position.

Every 4 – 6 weeks we will plan an appointment to review the progress of your treatment at the practice. Depending on your individual needs, your Invisalign® treatment may last from 3 to 18 months.

As only gentle pressure is required to move or straighten teeth, the majority of patients experience no more than slight discomfort during the treatment. At the end of your treatment, a retention appliance may be required in order to prevent teeth from returning to their original position.

How much does Invisalign® cost?

The cost of Invisalign® teeth alignment depends on the length of your treatment, which in turn is dependant on the complexity of your orthodontic requirements. During your consultation, your dentist will give you an individual treatment and payment plan adapted to your needs. An Invisalign® treatment includes all orthodontic aligners, scheduled check-ups and aftercare.
