Types of Adult Braces

It is a common misconception that straight teeth are for young adults who can get treatment on the NHS and that if you are an adult you’re stuck with what you’ve got. A smile can speak a thousand words and either make or break your confidence.

There are many different adult brace options to consider to fit your lifestyle and desired results. Gone are the days of bulky metal braces, there are now clear and near-invisible technology so that your braces don’t take away the attention from your features.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a very popular orthopaedic treatment that involves the creation of transparent retainers that are changed periodically to make small movements to your teeth until they are in the desired position. Invisalign braces are to be worn 23 hours per day and removed when eating. They are simple to keep clean, blend in with your teeth and deliver predictable results.

Cfast

Cfast braces are used for minor dental corrections such as a gap between the front teeth, crowded teeth and crooked teeth. Cfast braces use tooth-coloured brackets and wires so that they blend in. This type of brace isn’t used to correct any orthodontic function issues but is popular for cosmetic improvements.

Inman Aligners

Slightly more visible on your teeth than Invisalign with shorter treatment times, Inman Aligners use clear aligners to apply pressure to the teeth to move them into the desired position. Inman Aligners are used in cases that do not require a large amount of movement and treatment times are usually anywhere between 6 to 18 weeks.

Six Month Smiles

For very minor cases where the patient wishes to improve spacing between their teeth or close smalls gaps, Six Month Smiles are a popular option.
